Inviting People to a Teleseminar
There are many sources of information on the web on how to get people to your meeting so the following only covers the basics.
Send an invitation
Ask people to sign up for the meeting and ideally get their permission to put them on your email list.
Send another invitation – making it sound like it will be heavily subscribed to and that they need to sign up now because places are running out etc
Send a reminder of the meeting and the benefits of attending
If you have a large list, try sending different versions of the invitation to smaller groups and measuring which is the most successful email so that you can use the nest email for the remainder of the list
Asking people to sign up for the teleseminar helps you understand:
- How much interest there is - have you got your subject/title right and list right?
- Who will attend? Since many people will register but not attend you can assume that they are interested so next time there is a teleseminar you should invite them again or perhaps send them details on how to download a recording
- If you rented the list then this also means that you have just harvested some qualified names
Of the people that say they will attend, unless they have paid to attend, assume a large number will be no shows. Feedback from our customers indicate that only 25-35% of the people that say they will attend will actually show up!
You can automate a big part of your campaign by using autoresponders. You can read about them at wikipedia. Companies providing this service include aweber and MailChimp.
