A webinar / web conference is a phone conference with the addition of a visual presentation.

This adds an extra dimension to your presentation and will make it easier for your audience to retain your information and perhaps make decisions.

However, there is a downside:

1. All participants need a recent computer with a broadband internet connection.
2. They will need to join two meetings, the phone meeting and the web meeting.
3. There are incompatabilities that sometimes prevent it working - at all!

When is it appropriate to use a webconference?

If your teleseminar is business to business and you need to use slides then the visual component will add greatly to the value of the teleseminar.

If your meeting is with individuals/or the self employed, then unless the visuals are vital, it may make the meeting to hard to join.

Where to buy web conferencing?

HotAir does not provide web conferencing. This is because we are very proud of our high levels of service. Web conferencing often has issues and the

rarely comes with good support, so for us to be competitive we would need to offer poorer service.

Can I use HotAir for the teleconference and someone else for the web conference?

Yes.

The service we hear the best feedback on is GoToMeeting.com (by the way, we don't receive any payment or benefit in kind for this recommendation)

GoToMeeting like many of the web conferencing companies do provide the telephone part of the meeting but they do this by putting the calls over the internet. This will mean poor sound quality so is not recommended.

The following are indicative prices.

Up to 15 Computers

An unlimited number of meetings for up to 15 simultaneous connections (computers) includings yours.

Expect to pay around US$ US$49.00/month

Most services offer a lower price for a 12 month committment. If you are expecting to conduct a large number of webinars this is a good option but feedback from our customers is to only move to a 12 month plan after considerable amount of testing and real webinars.

Need more than 15 Computers?

Many web conferencing providers offer unlimited number of teleseminars / webinars with up to 1000 connections for US$99.00 / month.
