Some companies are now advertising even lower teleconferencing prices, they can do this because they cut corners. Here's a list of how they do it and why we don't!

Calls are forwarded overseas This means that not only will sound quality be extremely variable, there will also be a long delay when people speak, because the sound has to go all the way to the UK or USA and back.
Call go over the internet VoIP (Voice over the internet rarely provides adequate sound quality for teleconferences.
No support To provide meaningful support during a conference requires a team working extended hours but this is not cheap. Most companies either don't provide support or say they do and then hope you don't need it!
Lower grade equipment Whilst it is possible to buy much cheaper conferencing systems, it's not a great way to keep customers happy.

HotAir and the large service providers don't buy this type of equipment, because it does not work all of the time and can have problems when there are lots of conferences taking place at the same time.


You can normally tell if corners have been cut by looking at the price. Teleconferencing requires expensive specialist equipment, and a high ratio of staff to customers.
